McArthur welcomes reluctant rethink on bull hire scheme

9.30.45am GMT Tue 9th Feb 2010

Commenting on the continuation of the Government bull hire scheme, Liberal Democrat rural affairs spokesman Liam McArthur said:

“This is welcome news indeed.  Liberal Democrats have been campaigning to save the bull hire scheme for over a year.

“The previous Minister tried to kill the scheme off.  I am glad that under pressure from across the crofting counties and MSPs throughout the chamber Roseanna Cunningham has been dragged kicking and screaming into accepting the case for retaining this valuable scheme.”
