Lib Dems call for answers from Government on housing

5.24.38pm GMT Fri 26th Mar 2010

Commenting on the housing figures released by the Scottish Government which shows funding for affordable housing in Scotland will be reduced by nearly £200 million in 2010/2011, Liberal Democrat Housing spokesman Jamie Stone MSP said:

“The SNP have continued to boast about their ‘record investment’ in affordable housing.

“But these figures show that this alleged ‘record investment’ is only due to accelerated funding, which is now being cut from next year’s housing budget.

“Instead of misleading the public, the Scottish Government must provide answers on how they are going to provide sustainable and affordable housing for future generations.”
